Amethyst ShadowFX is a shadow modelling program for architects and town planners.

With Amethyst ShadowFX you can:

• Create horizontal and vertical shadow profiles
• View shadow models for horizontal overhangs and vertical fins
• Create reports which give information about positions of the sun, times of sunrise and sunset, horizontal and vertical shadow angles, and angles of incidence
• View 3D models of sun movements and shadowing effects.

Shadow profiles are output in the form of AutoCADŽ DWG and DXF files. These can be imported into CAD drawings for further analysis, or printed onto transparencies for use as overlays.

Amethyst ShadowFX incorporates a CAD Viewer that you can use to quickly and easily view AutoCADŽ DWG and DXF files. Features include:

• View AutoCADŽ DWG and DXF files versions 2.5 to 2002
• Save files in any version of AutoCADŽ
• Convert DWG files to DXF, and DXF to DWG
• Zoom, pan and print drawings
• View drawings in Model Space and Paper Space
• View named views
• View 3D views
• Rotate drawings
• Modify colour and visibility of layers
• Supports external references
• Multiple document interface
• Drag and drop functionality
