What is Amethyst ShadowFX?

Amethyst ShadowFX is a sun and shadow modeling program for architects and town planners.

Amethyst ShadowFX removes the guesswork - now you can correctly determine shading impacts, and design more effective solar shading.

The program is designed with the casual user in mind. Shadow profiles can be quickly and easily generated without the need to input complex 3D objects, and data is presented in a highly usable and easy-to-understand format. With Amethyst ShadowFX you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out the movements of the Sun.

• Amethyst ShadowFX enables you to easily generate shadow profiles cast by buildings and other objects for any latitude, longitude and time of year.
• You can view various reports that give times of sunrise, sunset and solar noon, the equation of time, solar azimuth and altitude, horizontal and vertical shadow angles, and angle of incidence.
• Use the solar calculator to determine length and direction of shadows cast for any specific latitude, longitude, date and time.
• Perform shadow modeling for horizontal overhangs and vertical fins.
• Use the 3D modeling feature as a "heliodon on your desk".
• Shadow profiles are output in the form of AutoCADŽ files. These can be imported into CAD drawings for further analysis, or printed onto transparencies for use as overlays.

The program incorporates a fully functional CAD Viewer, that enables you to view AutoCADŽ DWG and DXF files versions 2.5 to 2002.
